Stock video sales, Sept 2021
A short video of my stock video and photo sales from September of 2021. Certainly not an attempt at bragging rights as you will soon see. The 3 video clips were sold on Black Box Portal which has been the main source of my minimal revenue.
It is always rather curious to me what sells as I thought the first 2 clips were rather ordinary. Each of these clips earned $19.24. That was my cut from the likely sales price of about $60.00.
The next clip which I thought was much better only earned $3.24. Hard for me to guess why the commission was so low. The most likely scenario was that the selling agency offered my original 4K clip at a lower resolution ( 720P ) resulting in a much lower selling price.
This use of smaller size clips seems to be a trend as many of the submissions are used on web pages where the larger resolution is not needed. Also, stock sales sites have reduced their commission schedule overall. This combination of trends results in a downward ...
