Let's Go For a Rumble

I recently started making posts to Rumble. If you are not familiar with the platform their slogan goes like this.

“Rumble is your rights management video platform. Host, distribute and monetize all your professional, social and viral video.”

To me, it seems like a cross between YouTube and “America’s Funniest Home Videos”. A typical video might be a Mom sticking her head in the toilet (accidentally) to make a baby laugh. I saw some YouTube videos where an individual claimed to make $1000 a month but there was no documentation of any kind, so it was likely just clickbait. I saw a few RUMBLE videos that were label as, “Viral” and looks like they made just a few dollars.

Uploading a video is simple enough but then you will be offered a choice of 3 License Agreements. Even if you read the description it is not clear exactly what each one means. After some short research, it seems that the first choice of; “Video Management” is a generally accepted option.

If you have an account you will be able to view a good many statistics but anyone’s guess as to what they mean? Here is one explanation that I thought was hilarious regarding ECPM

HOW DOES THIS METRIC RESULT IN INCOME?
This question gets typically asked by people who don’t understand what eCPM is in the first place.

Seems there is such a thing as a stupid question?

Currently, I have about 50 videos posted which are mostly clips I already had on my computer. They are a mix of travel videos and drone shots which may not be the best examples of high demand? I was going on the guess that the platform would be akin to Shutterstock where an individual clip could be licensed for $50 or more. It does not seem that is the case?

My “Stats and Analytics” page show 79 “Video Plays”. But if you look at individual submissions, each one could have over 30 views individually and a grand total of over 500 views. Seems VIEWS and VIDEO PLAYS are two different things? I also have earned 2618 “Rumbles”, whatever that is? But, it certainly does not have any correlation to income as you will see.

Finally, the worst part. For my efforts, I have earned a total of 2 cents for my submissions. (And it gets worse). I will need a total of $50 in my account before I can cash out. At the current rate, it seems I will get my first payment in about 10 years (if still alive) ?

If anyone has a different experience I would love to hear about it!

A few screenshots are attached for your amusement.
